About Assistant Professor Aris E. Giannakas

ARIS GIANNAKASAris Ε. Giannakas was born and raised in Agrinio, Greece in 1978. He finished the high school and he managed to enter Department of Chemistry of University of Ioannina in 1996. In 2000 he finished his first degree in Chemistry and he started his PhD in the same Department, in the Lab of Chemical Technology and in the sector of Industrial Chemistry and Food Technology. He finished his PhD in 2004. From 2006 to 2013 he was work as a Laboratory staff in the Department of Environmental and Natural Resaurces Management of University of Ioannina in Agrinio, Greece. On 2014 he became a member of the Lab. & Teaching Staff of University of Patras in the Food Technology Lab of the Department of Business Administration of Food and Agricultural Enterprises in Agrinio, Greece. On July 2020, he was elected as an Assistant Professor for the topic of “Chemical Technology. Nanostructure application in Food Technology” in the Dept. of Food Science & Technology, School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Patras. Briefly CV-data about Prof. Aris E. Prof. Aris Giannakas has a great experience in the synthesis, characterizatrion and applications of:

In the last decade he has get a great experience in the synthesis of novel active and/or smart packaging films and in the synthesis of active nanostructures for improving self-life of foods.

His research interests and skills following the global trends of cyclic economy, green chemistry and food nanotechnology which imply the use of food by-products and biobased and/or bioactive materials for the developing of added value materials and nanomaterials for food packaging sector and food proccessing sector.
